Santorum team finds 49 signatures for Ind. ballot (AP)

INDIANAPOLIS ? GOP presidential contender Rick Santorum's campaign says it's found enough valid signatures to get his name on Indiana's ballot.

Santorum spokesman Hogan Gidley said Monday the campaign found an additional 49 signatures it believes were wrongly deemed invalid by Marion County officials. The number would be enough to put the campaign just over the amount needed to make Indiana's ballot.

Marion County officials determined last week that Santorum fell 24 signatures shy of the 500 needed in Indiana's 7th District. Gidley says the campaign is waiting to hear from the county whether it will re-certify the signatures.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Texas Rep. Ron Paul and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney all qualified to compete in Indiana's May 8 primary.
