Following the announcement of an extended broadcast deal, RFA 7 airs live on AXS TV.
The headliner features a Brazilian vs. American welterweight matchup as Leandro Silva (18-7), a Blackhouse fighter who was on a 9-1 run before a recent decision loss, takes on his American counterpart, Brandon Thatch (8-1), who fights in his home state while looking for eighth straight win via stoppage. In fact, Thatch's only career loss came via split decision at a 2008 Strikeforce show.
In the middleweight co-headliner, Chidi Njokuani (9-3), who was recently named one of MMAjunkie.com's top 25 young fighters, goes for his fifth straight win when he meets fellow striker Jeremy Kimball (8-3), whose current four-fight win streak includes three knockouts.
Additionally, undefeated bantamweight prospect Sergio Pettis (6-0) meets the well-rounded Matt Manzanares (4-1). The winner gets a title shot.
Rounding out the card are featherweights Mirsad Bektic (5-0) vs. Nick Macias (6-2) and heavyweight Alex Huddleston (2-1) vs. former NFL player Leandro Veal (1-0).
The latest RFA 7 card includes:
- Leandro "Bata" Silva vs. Brandon Thatch
- Jeremy Kimball vs. Chidi Njokuani
- Matt Manzanares vs. Sergio Pettis
- Mirsad Bektic vs. Nick Macias
- Alex Huddleston vs. Leandro Veal
